FTP is working but cannot read the log

Hi,

I have set up ftp access on all 3 of our COD4 servers, each account has RO access to the /main folder, in which the games_mp.log resides.

I have added all three servers (minutes ago) for approval.

But -

When I logged on to test the account, I can list and see the files but when I tried to download the games_mp.log I got a 550 error - cannot access the file as it is in use.

I'm not sure if the tracker will be able to read the logs either.

Anything for me to do to fix this ?

A few other servers have the same problem. Not sure what's causing this. Probably the operating system, used filesystem, FTP Server or whatever ...

As long as the server is running and writing to the logfile, no one can access it. If you shut down your gameserver you should be able to access the logfile !?

Not sure how to solve it (yet).

Sorted...

I am a doofus at times.

I've set up dozens of FTP servers but only encountered this a couple of times before...

With hindsight it's obvious :

It is necessary to enable "Allow transfers of files opened by another process"

I used filezilla server and on that it is under settings>miscellaneous (its a tickbox)

I edited my other post to reflect this, too.

Hope it helps.

Really? This would be great! The other people use Filezilla too, so it might work for them too!

I will let them know and give them the link to your post here.

THANKS!
